Volunteering

Your Gift of Involvement is essential.  Galatians 6: 10 “So then, while we have the opportunity, let us do good to all, but especially to those who belong to the family of the faith.”

Your involvement as a school volunteer is very important to our entire school community. Volunteers demonstrate service, and guarantee both cost savings and fundraising income for Saint Anthony Catholic School. Without volunteer involvement, Saint Anthony Catholic School would have to hire additional faculty and staff to maintain the many classroom, athletic, and service projects we offer to our students.  In addition, many volunteers are necessary each year to ensure the continued success of our fundraising events.  Because of your Gift of Involvement, Saint Anthony Catholic School is able to offer your children countless opportunities. Thank you!  We invite all parents, grandparents, family members, friends and parishioners to volunteer in our school.

The Development Office is the hub for Fundraising Events, Campaigns, Planned Giving, Grants, Volunteers, Mentor Family program, Alumni Relations, and Marketing & PR. Through the work of the Saint Anthony Friends for Education (S.A.F.E.) and Home & School Assn. (HSA) organizations, the Development Office is a place where school families come together, roll up their sleeves to volunteer and create lasting relationships while supporting a great cause…SACS! A sense of community permeates.  It is through this sense of community that the legacy has been built and continues. The result is our 93-year-old Saint Anthony Catholic School.

For information on how to get involved, contact the Development Office 954-467-9009 or email s.murrah@stanthonyftl.org.  Below are some of the ways you can be involved at Saint Anthony Catholic School:

Development and Fundraising:

Are you a natural-born fundraiser? Yes or no, in the Development Office, your talents and skills can be put to use for the school in office help, fundraising, grant writing, and event planning.

S.A.F.E. – Saint Anthony Friends for Education:

The purpose of the Saint Anthony Friends for Education is to continue the long term fundraising needs of our school, which includes teacher/staff salary enhancements, scholarships and growing the Foundation endowment.  In the past, S.A.F.E. has also contributed heavily to school technology and to air conditioning our beautiful 1939 gym and the covered walkways for our students’ safety!  Our main fundraisers that help fund our goals are the Annual Giving Campaign, Ladies Night which will be held in February and the Annual Gentleman’s Dinner which will be held in April and is attended by over 400 men throughout our community.  These are great opportunities to get involved and have a lot of fun!

Home & School Association:

The Home & School Association coordinates family and parent social events such as the Community Fair, the annual Dinner Dance Auction and Movie Nights throughout the year. They coordinate special events for faculty and staff. These are great ways to get involved and have fun doing it.  All school parents are automatically members of the Home & School Association.

Mentoring Program:

Current parents are paired with new incoming families to offer support and advice throughout their first year.  This is a wonderful opportunity to make new and lasting friendships.

Homeroom Parents:

These parents are the main contact between the parents of students in your child’s classroom and the teachers, as well as the Home & School Association. The homeroom parents are responsible for spreading school information via email and phone calls to parents on a regular basis (i.e. volunteer needs, schedule changes, spirit days, etc.).   The homeroom parents help with class parties and assist teachers with field trip preparation and chaperones.

Uniform Recycle & School Uniform Store:

Volunteers are needed to help recycle gently used uniforms and to sell new uniforms and supplies in the School Uniform Store.

In the Library:
Volunteers help with re-shelving returned materials, aiding students in checking out books, simple book management (add stickers to book spines), and laminating teacher materials. Shifts are available daily, Monday through Friday: 9-11am and 1-3 pm.

Booster Club:
Join other Hurricane fans in assisting with concessions, fundraisers for athletics, announcing games, keeping the scorebook and clock, and more.

Field Day Volunteers:
Every spring, Saint Anthony Catholic School hosts Field Day!  Parent volunteers are needed for everything from manning Field Day activity stations to water and popsicle duty.

School Advisory Committees:

These are advisory committees that support the Principal and the Pastor with various operational functions. Members are selected by the Principal and the Pastor for their expertise in various fields: Technology, PR & Marketing, Facilities, Athletics, Academics, Spiritual Life and Diversity.
